Hello, I'm Cathryn!

Hi, I’m Cathryn, a natural light, candid, documentary-style photographer. My journey behind the lens began in 2014 in Fairfield, Iowa, where I discovered my love for capturing life’s unscripted moments. In 2023, I relocated to the beautiful mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, which I now proudly call home. Still, a big piece of my heart (and client family) remains in Iowa, so I often find myself traveling back for sessions there.

My favorite moments to photograph are the raw, real ones. The quiet in-between glances, the laughter that spills out unexpectedly, the tears that say more than words ever could. Whether it’s a cozy in-home lifestyle session or the incredible power of labor and delivery, I’m drawn to the authenticity of human connection.

I believe photography isn’t just about what we see, it’s about what we feel. My goal is to capture emotions you rarely see, but always remember.
